How much does the Mont-Tremblant Citizen's Card cost?
The card is provided free of charge. To obtain a card, citizens must produce proof that they are citizens of Mont-Tremblant. This can mean showing their tax bill, a lease that's valid for a year, a driver's license with a Mont-Tremblant address, or a bill from Bell, Hydro-Québec or Cogeco.

How long is the waiting period for issuing of a permit or authorization certificate, e.g. a building permit?
You should allow, on average, two to three weeks for a permit or authorization certificate to be issued. The inspector has a 30-day period to study the file from the time when the request was registered. Requests are treated on a first-come-first-served basis and not by the type of request. For example, a request for installation of a fence would not necessarily be dealt with more quickly than a request for a new building.

Every two years if you're living in your house on a permanent basis, or every four years if your house is occupied less than six months a year.

If I live alone, may I empty my septic tank less often?
No, according to Q-2, r.8 (provincial law), even if a person lives alone, the septic tank must be emptied according to the following minimum requirements: every two years if the residence is occupied full time, and every four years if occupation is seasonal.

If I have a biofilter, and see to its annual maintenance, do I have to empty my septic tank?
Yes, you still have to empty your septic tank. Your maintenance contract relates only to your biofilter. You must also empty the septic waste that accumulates in your septic tank, according to the frequency established under the law: every two years if you live in your residence year-round, or every four years if occupancy is seasonal.

To reduce the number of times police and firefighters have to respond to false alarms. In 2006, the Service de police responded to 1,861false alarms caused by faulty installation or user negligence.

What happens if I don't get a permit for my alarm system?
If by any chance an alarm, real or false, were triggered at your home or place of business, and the system was not registered, you would be liable for a minimum fine of $100.

How can I avoid false alarms?
Make sure that people likely to use your alarm system have a good understanding of how it works; keep animals, balls and balloons, fans and heat sources at a distance from the zones covered by movement detectors.
