Police Department
The police department of the Ville de Mont-Tremblant works in a professional and communal style serving the public. We have as a mission to maintain peace, order and public security, to prevent crime and infractions to the laws and to look for the perpetrators. We must protect citizen's life and propriety and assure them a higher quality of life in a safe and peaceful city.
To achieve this mission, the department has 41 police officers, 15 9-1-1 calls dispatchers, 3 civilians employees and a computing manager. All those men and women are devoted to ensure the security of a population of 9 535 people as well as many visitors. They are split into 3 divisions to effectively meet the needs of the population.
Gendarmerie division
This division include 37 police officers working 24 hrs a day, patrolling the neighborhood in order to prevent the crime, respond to calls and persecute persons responsible of offenses and criminals. The principal task of the division is to ensure the security of the citizens and their goods, and to maintain order and public peace.
In 2011, a support team was created in the division of the gendarmerie. This section is divided in four fields of activities, which are circulation, special events, specialized patrolling (VTT, motorized snow vehicle and boat) and all that has to do with problems related to the traffic safety.
Criminal investigation division
The criminal investigation division includes 4 detective sergeants whose mission is to establish and maintain a program of detection and punishment of crime while participating to resolves problems in collaboration with the other divisions. In this regard, the modernization of police practices results in a rapprochement with citizens. Finally, the division has to bring forward lasting solutions to those problems by looking at his origin.
9-1-1 call center
The emergency call center has mandate to answer all the emergency calls for the territory of the MRC des Laurentides in addition to the cities of Saint-Donat, Prévost and Sainte-Adèle. The center then redirects the calls to the police, security department or to the ambulance.
