Prevention
The Ville de Mont-Tremblant Police Department works in partnership with its community to make aware, inform and created positive links with the population it serves. Through communication programs and prevention activities with various groups, the Department participates in the well-being and full achievement of the potential of the community as a whole.
This community policing approach permits a sustainable solution to crime problems. The community approach does not, however, replace traditional reactive police activity, which remains necessary.

Child identification program
The provincial program works with the Réseau Enfants Retour (children's return network) and participating Jean-Coutu Group. On the annual day, those interested can go to the Jean-Couty pharmacy (1065 Rue de Saint-Jovite). There the police will fill out a booklet with information about each child (fingerprints, photo, size, eye and hair colour, etc.) This booklet is given to the parent who, in the event of the kidnapping or disappearance of the child, would have on hand information that would be highly useful to the police.
Seniors
In addition to the PAIR program, other services are offered to our seniors, such as abuse prevention meetings in partnership with various organizations. The community relations offices, Éric Cadotte, also participates in consultation on home support and with the organization Prévoyance envers les Aînés (foresight towards the aged). If you have questions, or ideas for activities in which we could take part, please let us know!

Home prevention
The PAIR program
The PAIR system is a program of home prevention and safety which is offered free of charge. It is for any individual residing in the MRC des Laurentides who is in one of the following situations:
-
Lives alone
-
Has a loss of independence
-
Is convalescent
-
Has a major handicap
-
Lives with a person having a handicap.
Thanks to this automated call system, persons subscribing to this program receive a daily PAIR phone call at a predetermined time, to check that everything is going well. If the subscriber does not respond to the call, an alert is immediately triggered. The system staff must then intervene, contacting persons identified in advance by the person subscribed to the program, or the police, in order to quickly check whether the subscriber is in distress.
