Embellissons pour un 4e Fleuron!
The Ville de Mont-Tremblant is pleased to announce that it renews its commitment to the florets of Quebec for the next three years. It is with pride that the city had obtained in 2007, 3 Florons of Quebec out of a possible five, valid for three years. The renewal of our membership we will receive, for a second time, the visit of the classifiers and obtain, in autumn 2010, our new rating classification of the jewels of Quebec.
Recall that the classification of horticultural Florets of Quebec was founded in 2006 as a formal recognition of collective efforts to beautify a sustainable living environment. Last year, 30 municipalities out of 85 have managed to get a gem over at the second visit! It is in this spirit that we invite all our citizens and businesses to contribute to the horticultural beautification effort, because it is a collective challenge!
It was during this summer that the classifiers return evaluate our municipality. These professionals must assess developments in the public view on 60% of the municipal territory. The assessment criteria relate particularly cleanliness, maintenance, horticultural variety of elements and visual status of the urban landscape. The points are divided into five areas:
310 points for the efforts of the municipality - in 2007, marks obtained: 81%
270 points for the efforts of residents - in 2007, marks obtained: 50%
180 points for the efforts of institutions - in 2007, marks obtained: 65%
140 points for the efforts of industries and businesses - in 2007, marks obtained: 48%
150 points available for community initiatives and sustainable development - in 2007, marks obtained: 85%
More than 250 municipalities in Quebec have already obtained their Florets Quebec. Municipalities and counties Florets of Quebec are located in all regions of Quebec, representing over three million citizens.

On November 14, 2007, town councillor Yvon Meilleur went to accept the three Fleurons - Flowers - awarded to the Ville de Mont-Tremblant during the announcement of the rankings in the 2nd annual Fleurons du Québec in Saint-Hyacinthe. This year 65 new municipalities made the commitment to improve their surroundings by carrying out long-term landscape improvements, which brings to 165 the number of Québec municipalities involved.
