The Fédération interdisciplinaire de l'horticulture ornemental du Québec (the Interdisciplinary Federation of Ornemental Horticulture of Quebec - FIHOQ), in partnership with the Association des producteurs de gazon du Québec (the Association of Turf Procuers of Quebec - APGQ), has published a guide about planting and maintaining a sustainable lawn, called the Guide sur l'implantation et l'entretien d'une pelouse durable (in French). Similar materials in English are available from other organizations. They deal with what to plant, maintenance of an established lawn, harmful organisms and renovation of a lawn so that it's sustainable.
