The PAIR Program
The PAIR system is a program of home prevention and safety which is offered free of charge. It is for any individual residing in the MRC des Laurentides who is in one of the following situations:
- lives alone;
- has a loss of independence;
- is convalescent;
- has a major handicap;
- lives with a person having a handicap.
Thanks to this automated call system, persons subscribing to this program receive a daily PAIR phone call at a predetermined time to check that everything is going well. If the subscriber does not respond to the call, an alert is immediately triggered. The system staff must then intervene, contacting persons identified in advance by the person subscribed to the program, or the police, in order to quickly check whether the subscriber is in distress.
