Difficult financial situation
If you are in a financially precarious situation (Social Assistance and Social Solidarity only), you may be eligible for government assistance. All you have to do is to send specific information to the Services Québec office either by My File, by fax or in person. To find the Laurentians' service points, consult the available office locator. Also be aware that the Centre d'aide la Samaritaine is there to help you (819 429-5938)!
Home insurance
If your house or residence is insured, you could be compensated for food losses. Call your insurer to verify!
Before throwing everything away, remember to list the contents of your fridge and freezer, and take pictures.
