History and jurisdiction

Mont-Tremblant municipal court was created by decree on June 23, 2005. Since that date, all statements of offence issued by the Mont-Tremblant Police Department and other municipal departments are dealt with by this court.

The municipal Court is an agglomeration jurisdiction, and therefore authorized to hear, as well, the cases related to offenses committed on the territory of the Municipalité de Lac-Tremblant-Nord.

The Court has jurisdiction in civil and penal matters.

The court generally sits on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, without exception, in the afternoon, evening or both depending on the schedule.

Under the management of the Town Clerk’s Office, the Court is administrated by a Clerk of the Court – a justice of the peace assisted by a paralegal, each acting equally as collector of monies owed.
