The MRC des Laurentides has been designated a red zone starting on Monday, December 14. As a result, the Ville de Mont-Tremblant and its partners of the five poles ask everyone to intensify the strictness and rigour of their efforts with the goal of achieving a rapid return to a zone level that supports regional economic and tourism health while limiting community transmission as the Holiday Season approaches.
Discipline, concern for others and proactivity are the top priorities, and the major players of Greater Mont-Tremblant wish to remind all residents, citizens and businesspeople that it is everyone’s responsibility to comply with the basic public health rules: wear a mask, disinfect your hands and practice social distancing. The health of everyone, and particularly the most vulnerable, depend on your actions, as does the survival of many regional businesses and the jobs they provide, as well as our reputation as a region which welcomes visitors.
Our transition to a maximum alert (red) zone starting Monday involves new rules, including the following:
- visits to a residence* (house, condo or chalet) and private gatherings, indoors or outdoors, are forbidden;
- no organized physical, sports-related or recreational activity is permitted**;
- activities undertaken by oneself, whether individually or in pairs, are permitted as long as the public health rules are strictly observed**;
- training facilities and gyms are closed;
- bars, casinos and restaurants are closed, except for delivery, takeout and car orders (drive-through);
- libraries are closed with the exception of the loan desks;
- playhouses and entertainment buildings are closed;
- saunas and spas are closed, with the exception of the personal treatments they provide;
- businesses, companies and stores remain open (with restriction of the number of persons admitted, and the recommendation is for only one person per household);
- travel between regions is not recommended;
- there will be increased police intervention.
* Exception: one visitor only from another address (ideally, always the same person) for those living alone
** Starting December 17
