Leave

  • Leave your residence as soon as the people in charge of local emergency operations (Fire Safety Department and Police Department) advise you to do so. Ignoring such a warning could compromise the safety of your family members and of members of the emergency team who might be called upon to provide you with assistance. In the event of refusal, those in charge are authorized to force you to leave your residence.
  • Before leaving, don’t forget to have with you your 72-hour emergency kit.
  • Take the route indicated by those in charge. Do not take shortcuts: you could find yourself in a dead-end or dangerous situation.
  • Avoid driving on a flooded road; you risk being carried away by the current. However, if you are trapped in a flooded sector or the water is rising rapidly and your car breaks down (the engine fails), leave it and see to your own safety and that of your passengers.
